“Pip” PECK is researching the memoirs of Sylvia Hetty (Sylvia Henrietta) MURCH (nee JOHANSEN), and is trying to trace extended family.
Sylvia's parents were Norwegian immigrants Martin (Martin Joseph) JOHANNESEN (JOHANSEN) (son of Johanes (Johannes) JOHANESEN HOLT (JOHANSEN) and his wife, Sedsel ("Sanna") OLSDATTER GÅLÅS [GAALAAS], who settled in Norsewood and Palmerston North) and his wife, Anne Lovise (Annie Louisa) AMUNDSDATTER (AMUNDSEN) (daughter of Amund AMUNDSEN MOLDUSEN (AMUNDSEN) and his wife, Elise (Elsie) LARSDATTER WAALBERGET, who immigrated to NZ in 1875 per Fritz Reuter and settled at Ormondville).
Sylvia married Henry Charles ("Harry") MURCH in 1920, and had two children, Zita and Jack.
Sylvia's siblings were Michael Arnold (“Mick”) JOHANSEN (b. 1891) and Grace Effie (Effie Grace) JOHANSEN (b. 1894).
