"Bertel Gundersen´s confirmation record Sunday June 3. 1852 show us that he was born March 3. 1836 in Snertingdal. His marks in Christianity was "Meget godt"- Very good. Bertel was vaccinated Sept. 4. -38
His father "Huusmand"-Cotter Gunder Bertelsen is mentioned in the 1865 census abowe as a widower, but this record give us his mother´s name.
Bertels mother was Marit Thronsdatter, nr 3, top page."

Bertil is not found in the 1865 census. His wife, Marie, is staying with her parents. Her record includes a comment that her husband is temporarily in Hamar, Hedmark, Norway.

"It seems that Mari Hansdatter lived on Simenstadeie when she married Bertel and then she moved from Ringsager to Biri Nov. 24. 1864 about one month after the wedding. Likely to farm Tømmeråsen where Bertel was emplyed when he married Mari.
This was only temporary, because in the 1865 census she was back in Ringsager on farm Skrædderbakken at her parents recidence when Bertel was working on Hamar. Skredder=Tailor-bakke =hill/hillside
Biri and Ringsager are placed on each side of Lake Mjøsa, Norways largets lake."
