Bernhard was a veteran of the Gallipoli campaign. He returned uninjured. While in Europe, he met up with his uncles, Robert ANDERSEN and Ole ANDERSEN, before they were killed.

Farmed near Dannevirke, Tararua, New Zealand.

Ken joined the army, but did not travel overseas.

Ken took over his parents' farm at Gundries Road, Garfield, Norsewood, Tararua, New Zealand.
