First Generation :: Notes

1. Adolf Gunnerius CARLSEN (KNUDSEN)

Adolf's aunt, Anne Kirstine OLSDATTER (m. Hans Pedersen STOKKE), also came to New Zealand, and settled at Norsewood.

Recorded in Oslo in 1880, as witness at a christening, and he appears to have arrived in N Z in 1891 (from Australia), but don't know where he was in between.

Adolf Gunnerius KNUDSEN, who left his wife and 5 young children in 1909 and just disappeared. His wife died the following year and the children were fostered out to different families.


3. Rudolph Carl Norman (a.k.a. Randolph) KNUDSEN (HUDSON)

Rudolph (a.k.a. Randolph) KNUDSEN (HUDSON) was Anne Kirstine (Anne Christina) OLSDATTER's nephew (sister's child); son of Adolf Gunnerius KNUDSEN and Hanna Elise (Hannah Eliza) HANSDATTER (OLSEN). His mother died (1899) and his father disappeared (1909), and he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Hans and Ann STOKKE.


4. Hanna Eliza KNUDSEN

Spinster; aged 31 years at death.


Mary Elizabeth DONGHI

Italian.


5. Percy Nelson DONGHI (KNUDSEN (HUDSON))

Illegitimate son of Mary DONGHI.

Fostered after the disappearance of his stepfather (1909) and the death of his mother (1910).


6. Hannah Vera KNUDSEN

Fostered after the disappearance of her father (1909) and the death of her mother (1910).


7. Harold Rupert KNUDSEN

Fostered after the disappearance of his father (1909) and the death of his mother (1910).


8. Eric Joseph KNUDSEN (LEMON)

Fostered after the disappearance of his father (1909) and the death of his mother (1910). Changed his surname to that of his foster parents (LEMON).


9. Robert Reuben KNUDSEN

Fostered after the disappearance of his father (1909) and the death of his mother (1910).
