4Bush Advocate, Page 2, column 6, 28 Jul 1904.
"RATAL ACCIDENT.
We regret to have to record a fatal accident which happened at Norsewood yesterday, whereby Mr Ole NORDBYE, youngest son of Mr O. O. NORDBYE, lost his life. He was yarding up cattle on the Ngamoko road, near his father's residence, at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, when the horse that he was riding stumbled and fell, throwing the rider to the ground and rolling over him. Dr Zimpel was in attendance as soon as possible, and pronounced concussion of the brain. Though everything was done that was possible, deceased, who never regained consciousness, succumbed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Sincere sympathy is expressed for the family in their grief, more especially so as deceased's father is at present away on a visit to the Old Country."

8Bush Advocate, Page 2, column 7, 30 Jul 1904.
"The funeral of the late Mr Ole NORDBYE, who met his death on Wednesday, took place at Norsewood yesterday afternoon, at which a very large gathering of sorrowing relatives and friends were present, testifying to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The first part of the service took place at the residence of deceased's father, on the Ngamoko road, and was conducted by the Rev. J. OLIVER, assisted by the Rev. G. KING, at the conclusion of which the hymn "A few more years shall roll" was sung. The coffin, which was covered with a profusion of beautiful floral tributes of love and esteem, was then borne to the hearse by Messrs O ERICKSON, A. C. COLLINS, P. NISSEN and P. G. GRANT, and the sad procession proceeded to the cemetery, where the Rev J. OLLIVER concluded the service, speaking most feelingly as to the suddenness of deceased's death, eulogising in most marked terms his many good qualities and irreproachable character. Pastor CHRISTOFFERSEN also addressed the large assemblage in Scandinavian in similar terms. The hymn "Shall be gather [sic] at the river" was then sung, and the sad ceremony was concluded. Very heartfelt sympathy is expressed for the family in their awfully sudden bereavement, more especially so for Mr O. O. NORDBYE, father of the deceased, who is at present on a visit to the Old Country."
