NORSEWOOD.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
September 20, 1882.
A concert was given here last Friday night by the Norsewood Minstrels in the Working Men's Club, and was a complete success. The proceeds were to be given to the widow of the late Hans ANDERSEN, and this yielded a good house. The whole of the performance was creditably gone through without a single hitch. There were fifteen "darkies" in the troupe, and each vied with the other for the honor of being called before the curtain, but as everyone pleased so well the audience did not accord the premier position to any one. The proceeds, about £12, will be very acceptable to the bereaved family.

9. Mathilde Sophie † ANDERSEN

No marriage, death or burial found.

When Mathilde's father died (16 Aug 1882), he was survived by 5 daughters. Since Maren, Clara, Jennie, Adelina and Laura were known to be alive at that time, this suggests that Mathilde died before 16 Aug 1882. If she died at sea, or shortly after her parents arrived in New Zealand, her death may not have been registered.

10. Emma † ANDERSEN

Not found with parents at emigration. May have died in Norway between 1865 census and 1872.

11. Clara Emilie ANDERSEN

Also recorded as Clara Emilie ANDERSON.

Joseph BARNES

There is a Joseph BARNES buried at Waipawa. No age or dates.

Possible death record:
Microfiche: 1946 BARNES Joseph 491, Waipawa, Mar quarter
BMD: 1946/18101 Barnes Joseph 78Y (born about 1868)

12. Hans ANDERSEN

May have married Marie Christine (Mary Christina) CHRISTOFFERSEN:
1901/86 Mary Christine Christopheron Hans Anderson

May have died about 7/12/1948 and been buried at Hastings Cemetery, Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

16. Ludwig Edward ANDERSEN (ANDERSON)

Height: 5' 9 1/2"; ruddy complexion; blue eyes.

Marriage and military records use ANDERSEN surname. Later changed surname to ANDERSON.

Johanna HALIBURTON

Father was Scottish. As there is no record of Johanna's birth in New Zealand, she may have been born in Scotland.

Johanna's younger sister, Jane, born 1892, does not appear to have been born in New Zealand. Their younger brother, Ralph, was born in New Zealand in 1893. This suggests the HALIBURTON family came to New Zealand between 1892 and 1893.

18. Johan Marinus ("Jack") ANDERSEN (ANDERSON)

Possible marriage:
1905/1830 Mary Ann Lane Eleanor Blackburn John Martin Anderson
Birth:
1881/18156 Blackburn Mary Ann Eleanor Lane Mary Anne James Joshua -
Possible death:
1968/40705 Anderson Mary Anne Eleanor 88Y

Possible burial for Jack at Piako Cemetery, Morrinsville, Waikato, New Zealand.
